  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature preferred

  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • ⅔ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ¼ heaping teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350F (175C). Grease a 13×9 baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, light brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine water, butter, and oil until melted and boiling. Stir in the peanut butter until smooth.
  4. Pour the peanut butter mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until combined. Let cool for 5–10 minutes.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Gradually add to the batter until just combined.
  6. Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 30–32 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
