  • ¾ cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • ¼ cup water
  • cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • 2 tablespoons powdered milk
  • 1 egg, room temperature
  • ⅔ cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 5 teaspoons cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 5 tablespoons salted butter, softened
  • 1 large Granny Smith apple, cored and chopped
  • ¼ cup toasted chopped pecans (optional)
  • ¾ cup caramel sauce (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk and water to about 105-108ºF. Combine with melted butter.
  2. In a mixer bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, powdered milk, and yeast. Add the milk mixture and egg; mix until combined.
  3. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread with softened butter.
  4. Sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture and apple pieces; drizzle with caramel sauce. Roll tightly and slice into pieces.
  5. Let rise for 20-35 minutes before baking in a preheated oven at 350ºF for 16-22 minutes until golden brown.
